Hypnotherapy has been shown to be highly effective in a wide range of issues and has been subject to more clinical trials and research that almost any other therapy.
Have you ever set your mind to something, only to be sabotaged by yourself? Or felt that although you really want to achieve something, you can’t? We have all experienced being in “two minds” about something.
In fact we use two minds constantly, our Conscious mind and our Subconscious mind. Our conscious mind is creative, it is what we use to think, learn, and remember, it is who we perceive as our self.
The subconscious mind is vast and it runs our body’s various systems recording all our experiences and storing them as reference files. It then acts as a silent adviser to our beliefs and behaviors, guiding us according to the information it has stored.
The positive references help and support us in our lives and the negative references spend their time working against our conscious desires. We must remember that the subconscious mind is just replaying the stored references, like a recording device, without favour or malice.
When we are faced with the need to change we rely will power and persistence. We try with our conscious mind to override these stored references and make the changes we want to make, often with little or no success. Then, feeling bad, we berate ourselves for not managing to change. This is all because the conscious mind does not have access to the edit, record and delete function of the subconscious mind.
Fortunately through Hypnotherapy, Neuro Linguistic Programming, Emotional Freedom Technique (or Tapping), and the help of a qualified therapist, we can access the subconscious mind and alter the “software” that is producing your unwanted behavior.
